Renske’s debut album ‘Waiting To Be Told’ is a dynamic characteristic and shameless personal album that’s full of warm coloured melodies, great hooks and expressive lyrical style. The album contains two bonus tracks that Renske recorded with Perquisite (Pete Philly and Perquisite). When Renske traded the busy citylife of Amsterdam for a little summerhouse in the middle of nowhere in the winter of 2007, she found her inspiration. “Authenticity is what I strive for”, she says, “That’s why I wanted to go to a place where there were no destractions or other influences, to create a new sound in silence.” With a harddisc full of new songs she returned to Amsterdam. She had intense rehearsals with her band before recording in the fall of 2007. It took a while but Longerplayers are back with a banging new album! The gentlemen have been quit busy, working on several remixes for artists like State of Monc (Clippertron Extended) and Ro Krom (The Fatty Boom Project). Intercom is a vigorous, slightly dark, dance-album that combines genres like breaks, electro, progressive and drum ‘n bass. With a mixture of different styles, Bart Knol, Stephan van de Bos and Martin Hilkhuysen create their own sound spread over 12 varied tracks.
A beautiful balance between instrumental and vocal numbers result in groovy songs as Eternity and Feel You varied with tracks like Arise and Diabolik. Beside Longplayers vocalist Martin Hilkhuysen, Intercom features a list of guest artists, among them Shamangi (Artefact), Vanessa Piergolam and Ro Krom.

‘Music for Catwalks’: Watching Girls Go By… ‘Music for Catwalks’ is not a compilation, nor a mixed CD. All tracks on it are original compositions, especially created and recorded for a fashion show. This is meant to be a creative interface between music and fashion and a starting point of the collaboration between Dutch fashion designers Viktor & Rolf and their musical director and producer, Eddy De Clercq. Since the very first Couture show in 1998, in the Thaddeus Gallery in Paris both parties have been working closely together on the music to suit Viktor & Rolf’s collections. According to the designer’s idea these soundtracks for their shows should breathe a mood of their own and had to be creations which fitted their collections like a glove. This way the shows became a true and unique cooperation between the designers and the composer. On ‘Music for Catwalks’ one finds a selection of compositions as used during the actual shows by Viktor & Rolf and reworked by Eddy De Clercq into new arrangements for listening pleasure outside the environment of the actual fashion show. Other compositions on this album were made for possible shows or simply were inspired by the wonderful world of fashion. The music on the CD 'music for catwalks' is an eclectic mix of various styles; jazzy pop, latin soul jazz, bossa nova, balkan grooves, jazz, French chanson, Cuban grooves and atmosferic collages. It is a bold step forward for the team of Eddy De Clercq & Friends - a real departure from the past! The group is clearly inspired by older Brazilian tunes, but they've also opened their groove up to a much more global horizon - taking on influences from African and Cuban sources, and working in a style that has a much more organic feel overall. Recitement is an exciting mix of music and spoken word. The combination of pop music and spoken word is a phenomenon in the music history. Recitement contains 17 different compositions in 7 different languages and styles, arranged and composed by composer, arranger and musician Stephen Emmer. Recitement can be characterized as both retro avant garde and accessible. On Recitement everything comes together: past and present, death and life, writers and singers, poems and music. Is it Spoken Word Pop? Is it a contemporary audiobook? Or is it music album? Recitement is all of the preceding. The album is mixed and mastered in NYC by Tony Visconti and features several musical performers such as Blonde Redhead singer Kazu Makino, jazzmusician Benjamin Herman, legendary pianist Mike Garson (Bowie, Smashing Pumpkins), classical singer Maja Roodveldt, old school rapper Shyrock, Joost Kroon of New Cool Collective and popduo Bauer. Bastian is known for its distinctive sound, combining dance music with funk and sexy vocals. 'IV', the new album, has gained even more depth than its predecessors, keeping the songs contagiously radio-friendly, while on the other hand lacking the always annoying 'meant to be a hit'-formula, making them feel easy and loose. The sound is sturdier than before, containing more rock-influences, and is this time put down by the entire band instead of the album being a solo effort of Bas Bron. But is ultimately still danceable and funky as hell.

The result is his debut album: 'Music to do the Dishes with'. It is a real concept album, intended to provide mental support while doing the dishes. Geigercounting:"This record is meant to be as a reproduction of my live performance. Because my live-shows-sound-quality doesn't fit to the norm of a CD production, therefor I had to imitate a live show on my computer. You can see this album as a fabricate DJ set with only Geigercounting tracks". The CD is a no-budget-production in his ultimate form: the equipment isn't worth more than 500 euro for 2 electribe samplers/drum computers, 50 euro for a mixer and 150 euro for computer software.

Rare Groove is a beloved term for funk lovers and hip-hop producers. This style of music is introduced by dj's to name the obscure jazz/funk from back in the days. Most of the Rare Groove productions were originated in America and at a later stage in England, the Sovjet Communist countries and even in Austria! It is time to make an inventory of the Dutch sources. That is a piece of cake for funkspecialist Sjeng Stokkink and the members of Black Market Audio. Final result: In collaboration with Fonos.nl, Supertracks releases the double cd Dutch Rare Groove on October 28th 2005. CD 1 includes phat forgotten funkbreaks from the Netherlands. Hear the lovely grooves of the first Dutch funkgroup 'Houseband' and to 'Rob Franken', the first Dutchman who played the Fender Rhodes. Even Herman Brood is in on it! In short: surprising phat funk tracks which create a source for "new" samples. CD 2 was given the title 'Dutch Rare Food' and includes new remixes of C-Mon & Kypski. They gave, an interpretation of the songs in their own unique way. For this purpose they used samples from cd 1 and worked close together with Pete Philly, Paradox (Illicit), Colin Benders (trompetplayer of Relax), singer U-Gene and they made a remake with the one and only Oscar Harris.

In 2002, when Bastian's debut 'Ready' was released, the word electroclash hadn't yet been invented. The debut 'Ready' was succesful, the record gave us the single 'you've got my love' which became an international hit. 'It's all down hill from here' is as much a logical follow up as a great step forward. As always it's still packed with catchy melodies and lyrics you just can't help singing along to. But musically as much as textually Bastian has given a new dimension to his art; as the title already suggests it's not only the bright side of life we hear about. The album starts with a very uplifting jazzy instrumental, but when the album ends with 'hopeless' you realize Bastian has got some Blues too, in a manner of speaking that is . . .

For those who know Bong-Ra won't be surprised by the gritty, dark & dirty sound produced on his debut CD 'New Millennium Dreadz' in 1998. Five years on, the long awaited follow up 'Bikini Bandits, Kill!, Kill!, Kill!' will hit the fan. His adventures into jungle, ragga, core and hip-hop have produced a unique insight into the raw side of electonica, placing dance/electronics next to the grittyness of punk and rock; hence 'wreck 'n' roll'. Along side the gritty sounds, are the raunchy visuals of the Bikini Bandits, US producer Steve Grasse's white trash answer to the gangsta hip-hop videoclip phenomenom. Together with Gyromart (Grasse's company), two twisted minds fuse their oddball audio and visuals. The other collaborators on the CD are the vocalists: Benji Dred, well known of the infamous band Dub War, and currently of Skindred. Dutch rapper and owner of Rotterdam's infamous Redrum label will apper on two tracks, and none other than the ladies of Lolita Storm, who resided on the Digital Hardcore Recordings label (Atari Teenage Riot).
